Chapter 1
Armageddon 2419 A.D.

Chapter 2
Floating Men
The narrator, Anthony Rogers, awakens in a strange forest and witnesses a young person in green clothing using an advanced weapon and an anti-gravity belt. After rescuing the injured figure from attackers, he discovers it is a girl named Wilma Deering. She explains the gang-based society of the 25th century and questions him about his origins. He recounts his story of falling into a mine and waking up centuries later, which she ultimately believes.

Wilma Deering explains the history of the Han conquest, the collapse of America, and the rise of forest gangs. She describes the social and economic system of the gangs, her role in the Wyoming Gang, and the attack by the Bad Bloods. Anthony learns about inertron belts and the ongoing conflict with the Hans.
Chapter 4
Life in the 25th Century
Anthony Rogers learns to use the inertron belt, meets a fellow guard named Alan, and is brought to the Wyoming camp. He undergoes a skeptical interrogation by the Psycho Boss and History Boss, who eventually accept his story. Big Boss Hart assigns him to Bill Hearn's camp. Over two weeks, Rogers explores the community, observing its rustic yet industrious life, advanced technology like ultron and inertron, and the social structure of the Wyomings.
Chapter 5
IV: A Han Air Raid
During a discussion about Gerdi Mann's Irish ancestry, the group is interrupted by a Han air raid. Tony devises a novel method to shoot down a Han ship by firing an explosive rocket into its repellor beam, successfully destroying it. He and Wilma escape the valley, rally with the Wyoming Gang, and report to Boss Hart, who plans a return to the valley with a hundred men.
