A pirate captain who mutinied away from Bartholomew Roberts and later met a violent end.

## Who they are

Anstis sailed under the formidable Bartholomew Roberts before breaking away with a faction of the crew to command his own ship. His career illustrates the constant fracturing of pirate companies, where ambition and disagreement split even the most successful crews. His eventual death closes a life spent in the shadow of a greater captain, showing how even able lieutenants rarely escaped the fate that piracy invited.
