## Snapshot

Proud, fastidious elder son of the Warrenders, Theo bristles at any hint that his half-brother Geoff or the family estate might claim what he considers his alone.

## Who they are

Theo Warrender moves through his mother's household with the cold assurance of a man who expects to inherit both the Warren and its authority, yet finds his position shadowed by young Geoff, whom the servants already treat as future master. His disgust at being linked with his sisters, his sharp correction of Geoff's innocent assumptions, and his pointed refusal to imagine the boy traveling with the family all betray a jealousy he would never name. That brittle pride makes him the household's quiet fault line, shaping how every early scene of family life is read.
