## Snapshot

Bob Cratchit's proud, hardworking wife, who stretches a tiny Christmas dinner into a feast and does not pretend to forgive Scrooge.

## Who they are

Mrs. Cratchit runs the Cratchit household with threadbare dignity, making much of little and guarding her children's cheer. Her blunt dislike of Scrooge is the family's one unsoftened note, a reminder that his meanness has real targets and real witnesses. She matters because she shows what Scrooge's coldness costs in daily life, and what it would mean for him to be genuinely welcomed back into it.
